Normally people are confused when looking at the difference between mind and the Nature of Mind. In Tibetan language and philosophy, the same word can be used to represent different meanings. The ordinary mind is like a lame person who cannot walk without wind or energetic support. The karmic wind is like a blind horse. It uses the mind; together they collaborate in order to move. If people recognize the mind, it helps to comprehend the Nature of Mind. When people search for an elephant, the method is to follow the footprints. This topic is the basis of Dzogchen Meditation and is important to all levels of mediators.
