Whatever Dharma practice one undertakes, a firm foundation is required for it to be successful. Among these, the generation of compassion and the altruistic intention to benefit others is of primary importance in the beginning, in the middle, and in the end. Therefore, it is necessary for everyone to study and practice this foundation.

Here, as an example, we will discuss in this class the extensive stories of how supreme beings, within the mandala of the Nampar Gyalwa Buddha, laid the foundation of a noble bodhicitta in previously lives.

The realizations of method and wisdom attained through personal practice are like a wish-fulfilling jewel. There is another type of wish-fulfilling jewel, which is a material jewel, such as wealth deity Dhopa Gugyur or those held in the hands of the Naga kings. During the session on the deeds of Nampar Gyalwa, we will discuss how those supreme beings who were present in the mandala of Nampar Gyalwa in the past brought the material wish-fulfilling jewel into the human world to establish the welfare and happiness of sentient beings, and how they studied the scriptures of Nampar Gyalwa to cultivate the practice of attaining liberation and buddhahood.

Since we have just performed the Thousand Offerings to Nampar Gyalwa this past weekend, this class is intended to make that understanding arise more easily. All are welcome to participate.
